This photograph is about the lifecycle of human creations. Generations ago this was pristine wilderness. Next it was a rock quarry, and then when the quarry was abandoned people began to dump garbage into it. As the garbage, itself on the downward slope of its lifecycle, is slowly broken down by the elements, nautre is reclaiming this place. The floor of the quarry has become a marsh complete with frogs and the birds that feed on them, and the walls are being colonized by several kinds of trees and bushes.

Left to itself, this place would one day be as wild as it began.
