These tires lie at the bottom of an old rock quarry. Water running through the quarry has deposited a layer of mud that provides a home for many water plants. During the wet season, these tires are covered by water, much of which evaporates by the end of the summer. The white colour on the tires is what remains of thick algae growth from a few months earlier.
